Taking Off the Cape

I feel things deeply.

When someone is in pain, I feel it.

If someone cuts their hand, I feel it.

When someone is in self-loathing, I feel it.

If someone is experiencing emotional turmoil, I feel it.

When someone is lying, pretending or withholding, I feel it.

When people say things are fine, and they are not, I feel it.

(That kind of incongruence makes me feel crazy inside).

Over the years, I have been told I needed to work on boundaries.

Up until yesterday, I never understood what people meant by this because I clearly say what I need to say and take action as needed. I stand up to bullies and injustice. I am clear in communication, bold and decisive. This led me to believe I was good with boundaries, so I truly could not see what others were referring to. But yesterday, it was explained in a way I finally understood.

(Thank you Astrologer extraordinaire, Lori Stevens!)

Apparently, I merge or blend with other people's emotional energy fields.

I can easily take on what they are feeling, and this can push me to act.

This can happen with friends, family, clients, even strangers...

especially when I am in their physical space.

It applies to anyone I care about

and I care about everyone.

Out of my tenderness, grew this need to become a Super Hero.

In sensing someone's anxiety, fear, grief or upset, I want to help because I care, and don't want to see or feel them suffering. This Super Hero has also been protecting me because I don't want to be hurting either.

All of this stems from the emotional intensity I feel and sense around me.

It is also connected directly to my core abandonment issue

(I don't want you or me to ever feel abandoned) -more on that another day.

I mean really... so much is connecting here, Wow!

My Spidey senses are on full blast with the horrors happening in the USA.

Those of us who are empathic, we are carrying too much right now.

Something has to break... because this is killing us.

We are being called to shed anything that no longer fits.

For me, that is this heavy Super Woman Cape I put on years ago.

Fighter for Justice. Demander of Truth. Rescuer. Spiritual Warrior.

Taking off the cape doesn't mean I'll be laying down and doing nothing. The Truth Teller, Activist and Spiritual Warrior are part of my essence.

My intention is simply not to be run ragged by this part anymore. Now is the time to focus on slowing down, tuning in more, receiving, and healing my body temple.

As much as I've been challenged lately, I am equally aware of tremendous blessings in my life... including my beautiful friends and family like you.

I don't know what the heaven Spirit is up to, but I am feeling and sensing and knowing... that all is 'on course,' even if it is uncomfortable AF!

Thank you for being my friend.

In Loving,

Teri Jo

Happy Birthday Teri Jo!

On August 9th, I turned 60 and celebrated with very dear friends.

We had a fun Spa weekend at Murrieta Hot Springs (highly recommend)

And enjoyed a scrumptious dinner and Heart Talk at Talia Kitchen there.

TED Talk: Overcoming SuperWoman Syndrome (15 minutes)

Quote by Teri Jo:

Hang in there, my love.

Life is really tough right now.

And no, you don't need to be tougher.

'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger'

is a bullshit phrase made up by the machine.

'Pull yourself up by your bootstraps,' another lie.

'Rugged individualism'... more trickery for your mind.

We are not meant to be holding all this.

We are not meant to be doing this alone.

We are not meant to be taking on the world.

We are not meant to be pretending all is okay.

We are not meant to be carrying this corruption...

this cruelty, deception, hatred and despair.

What we are seeing is happening, it is real...

It is of the negative forces. Darkness is here.

None of this is normal, sustainable or okay.

Your nervous system feels like it's on fire.

You are tender-hearted, Awakening and pure.

None of this feels right to your heart that knows

The Truth of your beingness, and your belovedness.

This is not who we are,

Nor where we come from.

It is not what we came here to be.

Let yourself fall apart right now.

Drop the heavy backpack of boulders.

Let the entire damn break into tiny peaces.

The one you built with your own bare hands.

The one you've been holding up for years.

Pretending everything is okay.

Trying to figure it all out.

Holding it together.

Thinking positive.

Stop.

Let it all fall apart.

Let the river of tears come.

Without knowing if you will survive.

Worrying that the dark night will ever end.

Wondering if you will ever really and truly

and finally... Surrender.

Come home to your own heart breaking.

Let yourself feel and breath and cry.

Know that you are not alone.

You are not too sensitive.

You are not too much.

You are not broken.

You are alive and aware.

You envision a better world.

Sometimes you push and demand this

because you know how much is at stake.

Everything.

Remember... the Light is here.

The Dark forces are pushing back, fighting to survive.

Do not succumb. Do not ignore it. Do not comply.

Do your best to accept what is happening.

Yes, they want to destroy everything.

Yes, they just might succeed.

You still have choice.

Surrender.

Come home...

to the Light of your being

to the one not attached to this world.

There is Solace here. Freedom and Grace.

You are in good company,

Among broken-hearted visionaries

Who still believe in possibilities and peace.

Live this each day. Pray for Grace. Be Love.

You may not see the road, or understand the plan.

But keep attuning to the wisdom of your Soul.

It Lights the way, moment by moment.

You are the Light of the world.

That is more than enough.

It is everything.

Storage Units are Big Business in the USA.

Approximately 33% (1 in 3) of Americans currently have a storage unit, spending $39 Billion to 58 Billion per year to store their stuff.

You want to know what's wild about this?

Most people rarely ever visit their storage unit,

which means the stuff in there is not essential.

Do you have a Storage Unit? Or Two?

Perhaps it is time to downsize or eliminate these altogether.

Reach out if you would like help with this.
