Letting Go of Hope

letting go of hope

My writing has been heavy lately.

I have felt heavy, literally and figuratively.

I am still not in the clear, but a shift is happening.

I am able to observe with much more neutrality and levity.

It is still uncomfortable AF, but the despair isn't holding me tight.

This idea of letting go of hope came from an interview I watched with Sarah Wilson, author of the book, I Eat the Stars: How to Live Fully and Beautifully in a Collapsing World. Sarah has been a huge climate activist and humanity advocate. She is painfully aware of the demise that is happening in our world, and she shares this perspective about it (paraphrased):

We have been clinging to the idea that someone is going to come and save us.

This has created cognitive dissonance, an inability to face reality, and a lack of action. We need to see the truth and these harsh realities, and hope is holding us back from this. We need to let go of idealism and optimistic outcomes.

Ultimately, what this collapse is doing is bringing us back to our humanness.

The way she said this made total sense to my heart.

I feel my own sense of giving up.

My body has taken on excessive amounts of stress and anxiety.

And it is impacting me on many levels.

It's time to let go. I don't know how, but I must.

As I witness my own inner collapse related to how I'm seeing myself, others, and the world, as I see the harsh realities I've been trying for so long to pretend were better than they were, I'm aware that this 'seeing' is necessary for newness to be born. It still sucks. Deep sadness is present.

This inner and outer collapse of systems is breaking us open.

These 'systems' have kept us in check, and separate. They have kept us chasing illusions, never quite feeling like we are enough, or like we belong.

There is still a glimmer of Hope in my heart.

About you and me continuing on.

About humanity Awakening.

I have no idea IF we will rise in Love. But if we do, it will be a Glorious thing

and IT just might save the world.

Letting Go of Hope,

Loving the WE,

TED Talk: How to Respond to Societal Collapse (14 minutes) by Sarah Wilson

Movie 4 You: Michael

Quote by Teri Jo:

Feeling weepy today.

I am okay.

I am deeply moved by love.

So much love.

Friends for reasons and seasons.

Connections for life and lifetimes.

Acquaintances, 'chance' encounters.

So many roles we play, learn and live.

So many parts of self - inside and out.

Each essential and complex and lovable.

How lucky and blessed I am.

To live this life.

To meet each of you.

To be here in earth school.

To share this sacred space.

To see all of this beauty.

To hear sweet songs.

To taste the fruits.

To feel your hugs.

To cry with you.

To endure this wretched heartbreak

Along with relentless grace.

With you.

With me.

As us.

I am moved to tears.

There are no words.

There is no ambition.

Nothing to heal.

Nothing to fix.

Only love.

And... yes, the world is collapsing around us.

Earth school is being demolished before our eyes.

The walls are coming down fast.

The golden arches made of fools gold.

The reflective pools are filled with corruption.

Darkness has come to steal our science and research,

our classrooms and books, even the Truth and our beliefs.

Attempting to rob us blind and poison what matters.

But this darkness cannot take Love.

It can't even touch it.

For this Love has always been ours.

This Love has always been us.

So let it all burn.

Strip away the illusions.

Leave us standing here naked.

Unafraid. Honest. With Each Other.

With arms wide open.

And hearts shining bright.

We will graduate with honors.

And we will wait for the others

To one day... maybe

Join us.

The ORGANIZED Corner

My Organizing Tip this month is to follow the wisdom of this quote: Simplify your life. You do not need all the clutter you are holding on to.

Get rid of it now because it is stealing your energy. The clutter in your life takes energy to maintain. Start with the smallest things. Clear away a little and you'll be amazed at the vast amounts of energy it releases inside of you. Incomplete things also tie up energy. Look at all your unread books, and declare them complete (and then donate them!).

Guilt - let go of it, right now.

Keep around you only the things that give you energy.
